Abstract

Cargo throughput is the current entry and exit of cargos from and to the port which is an important parameter to measure the performance of the port, high cargo throughput means the port is good. This study discusses how the proposal or the right strategy to improve tonnage of cargo throughput, so we can know the factors that influence it, tonnage cargo throughput of existing simulation models, the best proposal to increase the cargo throughput, and projected of cargo throughput in the future. The method used in this research is the simulation of dynamic systems using powersim software. The results showed that the factors that affect cargo throughput in PT XYZ is the arrival of the ship, productivity of tugboats, cranes, trucks, and conveyors, the number of docks, trucks, and cranes. Based on the existing simulation model output obtained cargo throughput amounted to 10.168.774 tons, which is increased to 15.550.154 tons by increasing the operation cycle time of crane variable from 315 cycles/day to 336 cycles/day , increase the cycle time of truck variable from 12 cycles/day to 23 cycles/day and the addition of variable speed conveyor with a speed of 0.88 km/h. The projection is based on the best strategy in the year 2014 total cargo throughput is 14.436.921 tons, in 2015 amounted to 15.586.454 tons, in 2016 amounted to 14.812.709 tons, in 2017 amounted to 13.763.235 tons and the last in 2018 with a total cargo throughput 15.612.444 tons.

Additional Information: Cargo throughput atau daya lalu kargo merupakan arus keluar masuknya cargo dari dan ke pelabuhan yang menjadi parameter penting untuk mengukur performansi pelabuhan, semakin besar nilai cargo throughput maka pelabuhan semakin baik. Penelitian ini membahas bagaimana usulan atau strategi yang tepat dalam meningkatkan tonase cargo throughput sehingga dapat diketahui faktor�faktor yang mempengaruhinya, besar tonase cargo throughput model simulasi eksisting, usulan terbaik dalam meningkatkan cargo throughput, dan proyeksi beberapa tahun ke depan. Dalam penelitian ini metode yang digunakan adalah simulasi sistem dinamis menggunakan software powersim. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi cargo throughput di PT XYZ adalah kedatangan kapal, produktivitas tugboat, crane, truk, dan konveyor, serta jumlah dermaga, truk, dan crane. Berdasarkan model simulasi eksisting diperoleh output cargo throughput sebesar 10.168.774 ton yang kemudian nilainya meningkat menjadi 15.550.154 ton dengan strategi menaikan variabel operation cycle of crane dari 315 siklus/hari menjadi 336 siklus/hari, menaikan variabel cycle time of truck dari 12 siklus/hari menjadi 23 siklus/hari dan penambahan variabel speed of conveyor dengan kecepatan 0,88 km/jam. Hasil proyeksi berdasarkan usulan perbaikan pada tahun 2014 sebesar 14.436.921 ton, tahun 2015 sebesar 15.586.454 ton, tahun 2016 sebesar 14.812.709 ton, tahun 2017 sebesar 13.763.235 ton dan terakhir tahun 2018 dengan total kargo 15.612.444 ton.
