Abstract

The aims of the research are to describe the process of teaching student’s writing narrative text with the use of animation movie and to find out improvement in teaching students’writing narrative text use animation movie at the third grade of EvFiA LAND Primary School Benggala-Serang. The researcher has some reason for doing this research; the researcher found students’ had difficulty to recognize their idea into text, students’s writing ability is low and there were not interesting media in teaching learning process. So, the researcher used animation movie for teaching student’s writing narrative text. The researcher believed that animation movie can help students in improving their narrative writing skill and make the teaching and learning activities become more enjoyable. The researcher used qualitative research by using classroom action research. The research subject used in this research was the students of P3.D class which consisted of 20 students. The researcher used some instruments in this research. There were observation, writing test, and documentation. In analyzing the data, the researcher used data analysis as consisting of three current flows of activity. There were data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The researher conducted two cycles in this research. Each cycle consisted of two meetings. During the research, the researcher gave three tests to the students to see their score improvement. As the result of the research, the avarage score of pretest was 57.6. While, after treatment in the cycle one the students’ avarage score for pos- test one was 77.4. Then, after treatment in the cycle two, the students’ avarage score was 89.4. Based on the result above, it can be concluded that the improvement from pre-test to post-test one was 34.4%, while from post-test one to post-test two was 15.5%. In conclusion, the researcher may conclude that the use of animation movie in improving students’ writing achievement on narrative text at the third grade students of EvFiA LAND Primary School is effective.
