Abstract
This system already has been conducted by farmers, especially in Province
of Banten. Farmers in the village of Pejaten had introduced a system of hereditary
surjan. Leading commodities such as vegetables are kale, spinach and caisim. The
research aimed to determine the cost, income, the efficiency, break-even point,
and farming performance of surjan system form in the Pejaten village of the
District Kramatwatu. Descriptive method was conducted by data processing
methods qualitatively and techniques of data collection was conducted using
questionnaires and observation. The results of calculations on the performance of
farm surjan system consisted of a fixed cost in the amount of Rp 10.261.714,29,
variable cost was Rp 13,851,785.71, total revenue was Rp 61.971.428,57, and
total income was Rp. 38.520.428,57. to efficiency of farming was Rp 2.6 because
of its efficiency >1, then the farm system of profit surjan feasible to continue.
Based on the analysis of costs and income, it can be concluded that the
performance of farming systems surjan in Pejaten village which started from the
tillage, fertilizing, seeding, planting, pest and disease control until harvest time
had its advantages and able to meet the daily needs of farmers. It was just a still
traditional cultivation technique and there was no treatment of technological
equipment.
