Abstract
The background of this research is the importance of mastery of diction to support poetry writing skills of students, an the importance to perform an activity well. With the frequency of reading, the students are expected to be able to move their desire to learn optimally. Formulation of the problem in this study were (1) whether there is a relationship with a mastery of diction poetry writing skills of students, (2) whether there is a relationship with the students frequency of reading with the skills to write poetry students, and (3) whether there is a relationship mastery of diction and motivation to learn the skills of writing student poetry. The method used in this study is a survey method with a correlational study approach that seeks to express the relationship mastery of diction and frequency of reading as the independent variable with the skills to write poetry. The results show the value of normality test for diction asym Sig = 0.342; frequency of reading = 0.453; and poetry writing skills = 0.130 (greater than α = 0.05). Therefore we can conclude that H0 is accepted and this shows that the data are normally distributed.In addition to the significant value = 0.513 (greater than α = 0.05), it can be concluded that H0 is accepted. From the results of research based Model Summary Results table shows that the value of R = 0.863 and the coefficient of determination (Rsqure) of 0.744 (correlation coefficient is the squaring of). This shows the understanding that poetry writing skills (Y) 74.4% influenced by the mastery of diction (X1) and motivation (X2), while the rest (100% - 74.4% = 25.6% influenced by the causes . Based on the results of this study conclude that There is a positive relationship mastery of diction and motivation to learn the skills of writing poetry. With diction or choice of words to describe the intent and nuances of writing and frequency of reading should be easier for the student in expressing his imagination in a work of poetry . As for the suggestion of researchers is expected that this study can serve as a source of learning by teachers on teaching and learning in the classroom in order to foster interest in learning on students.

| Additional Information: | Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah pentingnya penguasaan diksi untuk menunjang keterampilan menulis puisi siswa, serta pentingnya Kekerapan membaca atau untuk melakukan suatu kegiatan dengan baik, Dengan adanya sebuah Kekerapan membaca belajar maka para siswa di harapkan untuk dapat menggerakkan keinginan mereka belajar secara maksimal. Rumusan masalah pada penelitian ini adalah (1) apakah terdapat hubungan penguasaan diksi dengan keterampilan menulis puisi siswa, (2) apakah terdapat hubungan Kekerapan membaca siswa dengan keterampilan menulis puisi siswa, dan (3) apakah terdapat hubungan penguasaan diksi dan Kekerapan membaca secara bersama-sama dengan keterampilan menulis puisi siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survei dengan pendekatan studi korelasional yang berupaya untuk mengemukakan ada tidaknya hubungan penguasaan diksi dan Kekerapan membaca sebagai variabel bebas dengan keterampilan menulis puisi. Hasil uji normalitas menunjukan nilai Sig untuk diksi = 0,342; Kekerapan membaca = 0,453; dan keterampilan menulis puisi = 0,130 (lebih besar daripada α = 0,05). Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa H0 diterima dan hal ini menunjukan bahwa data berdistribusi normal. Selain itu nilai signifikan = 0, 513(lebih besar daripada α = 0,05), maka dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa H0 diterima. Dari hasil penelitian berdasarkan Hasil tabel Model Summary menunjukkan bahwa nilai R = 0,863 dan koefisien determinasi (Rsqure) sebesar 0,744 (adalah pengkuadratan dari koefisien korelasi). Hal ini menunjukan pengertian bahwa keterampilan menulis puisi (Y) dipengaruhi sebesar 74,4% oleh penguasaan diksi (X1) dan Kekerapan membaca belajar (X2), sedangkan sisanya (100%-74,4%=25,6% dipengaruhi oleh sebab-sebab. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat simpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif penguasaan diksi dan Kekerapan membaca belajar dengan keterampilan menulis puisi. Dengan diksi atau pemilihan kata-kata yang tepat untuk menggambarkan maksud dan nuansa tulisan serta Kekerapan membaca yang tinggi haruslah akan mempermudah siswa dalam menuangkan imajinasinya dalam sebuah karya puisi. Adapun saran peneliti adalah diharapkan bahwa penelitian ini dapat dijadikan sebagai sumber belajar oleh para guru pada proses belajar mengajar di kelas guna untuk menumbuhkan minat belajar pada diri siswa. | |||||||||
