Abstract
The purposes of the research are (1) to know synopsis writing skiil in relationship with understanding the content of the novel. (2) to know synopsis writing skill in relationship writing skiil in relationship with ability to understand the content of the novel and learning motivation. The research is implemented to the student grade IX SMPN 7 Cilegon. Mothode of the research use quantitative with coraletional technique. Free variable in the research is ability to understand the costent of the novel (X1) and learning motivation (X2), limit variable is syinopsis writing skiil (Y1). Total of the student grade IX SMPN 7 Cilegon are 242. The sample is 71 students using random sampling technique with slovin formula. The research show (1) there is positive relationship and the same direction between synopsis writing skill and ability to understand the content of the novel for the student SMPN 7 Cilegon. It has value rcount 0,616 (strong category) more than rtable 0.323, (2) there is positive relationship and the same direction between synopsis writing skill and learning motivation for the student grade IX SMPN 7 Cilegon. It has value rcount 0,510 (midle category) more than rtable 0.323, (3) there is relationship with between synopsis writing skill with ability to understand the content of the novel and learning motivation of student grade IX SMPN 7 cilegon. It has value Fcount 13,349, more than Ftable 3,132 and significant value 0,000 less than 0, 05

| Additional Information: | Tujuan penelitian ini, yaitu: (1) Mengetahui keterampilan menulis sinopsis dalam hubungannya dengan kemampuan memahami isi, (2) Mengetahui keterampilan menulis sinopsis dalam hubungannya dengan motivasi belajar, (3) Mengetahui keterampilan menulis sinopsis dalam hubungannya dengan kemampuan memahami isi novel dan motivasi belajar Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada peserta didik kelas IX SMPN 7 Cilegon. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan teknik korelasional. Variabel bebas dalam penelitian ini adalah Kemampuan Memahami Isi Novel (X1) dan Motivasi Belajar (X2), variabel terikat adalah Keterampilan Menulis Sinopsis (Y). Polulasi seluruh Peserta didik Kelas IX SMPN 7 Cilegon berjumlah 242 siswa. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 71 ditentukan dengan teknik Simple Random Sampling menggunakan rumus Slovin. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Terdapat hubungan positif dan searah antara keterampilan menulis sinopsis dengan kemampuan memahami isi novel peserta didik SMPN 7 Cilegon, dengan Nilai rhitung sebesar 0.616 (katagori kuat) lebih besar dari rtabel 0.323 (2) Terdapat hubungan positif dan searah antara keterampilan menulis sinopsis dengan motivasi belajar peserta didik kelas IX SMPN 7 Cilegon, dengan Nilai rhitung sebesar 0.510 (Kategori sedang/cukup) lebih besar dari rtabel 0.323 (3) Terdapat hubungan antara keterampilan menulis sinopsis dengan kemampuan memahami isi novel dan motivasi belajar peserta didik kelas IX SMPN 7 Cilegon, dengan Nilai Fhitung 13.349 lebih besar dari Ftabel 3.132 dan nilai signifikansi 0.000 lebih kecil dari 0.05 | |||||||||
