Abstract
The purpose of this research was to know and understand the character education and moral values that contained in children's stories and its suitability for elementary school age children (SD). Background of this study were 9 stories of children, namely: "Fani yang Suka Pamer’'," Rando Peminjam PR Langganan"," Ben dan Aldo Sahabat Sejati ","Bintang Si Anak Pejabat "," Aurel dan Jepit Strowberi Nina "," Dewi yang Suka Bingung "," Salju di Bulan Desember? "," Hana Unjuk Gigi" and " Zaki dan LayangLayang Putus". This study was used content analysis method with approach of sociology literature. Data were collected through reading note, literature, and interviews. Interviews were conducted to two teachers, they were Islamic teachers and classroom teachers. The reseacher was also conducted an interview with the author of the book “Teman Istimewa". Based on the analysis result of children's stories description the researcher found the honest character values, tolerance, discipline, hard work, appreciate the achievements, friends / communicative, social care, responsibility, and independent. While the moral values that found in these short stori`es was a moral relationship between human with themselves and also human with another human beings. In addition, the book of children's story "Teman Istimewa" was suitable to be used as reading material for children.

Additional Information: | Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan memahami nilai pendidikan karakter dan moral yang terdapat dalam cerita anak dan relevansinya bagi anak usia Sekolah Dasar (SD). Latar penelitian ini adalah 9 cerita anak yaitu: “Fani yang Suka Pamer”, “Rando Peminjam PR langganan”, “Ben dan Aldo Sahabat Sejati”, “Bintang Si Anak Pejabat”, “Aurel dan Jepit Strowberi Nina”, “Dewi yang Suka Bingung”, “Salju di Bulan Desember?”, “Hana Unjuk Gigi”, dan “Zaki dan Layang-layang Putus”. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis isi dengan pendekatan sosiologi sastra. Data dikumpulkan melalui baca catat, studi pustaka, dan wawancara. Wawancara dilakukan kepada dua orang guru yaitu guru Agama Islam dan guru kelas selain wawancara dengan guru, dilakukan pula wawancara dengan penulis buku “Teman Istimewa”. Berdasarkan analisis terhadap hasil deskripsi cerita anak ditemukan adanya nilai karakter jujur, toleransi, disiplin, kerja keras, menghargai prestasi, bersahabat/ komunikatif, peduli sosial, tanggung jawab, dan mandiri. Sedangkan nilai moral yang ditemukan dalam cerpen-cerpen tersebut adalah moral huungannya manusia dengan diri sendiri dan hubungan manusia dengan sesama manusia. Selain itu buku kumpulan cerita anak “Teman Istimewa” relevan untuk dijadikan bahan bacaan bagi anakanak. | |||||||||
