Abstract

The research was aimed to know the morphology characterization and yield of some local genotype paddy of Banten. This research was conducted in August 2015 until March 2016 in a land of Untirta Permai’s housing, Serang - Banten. This research used Randomized Block Design (RBD) with one factor, that consisted of five genotype of local paddy of Banten : Jalawara Hawara, Badigal, Tambleg, Ketan Putri and Bongkok. Those genotype was grown in bucket from germination stage. Parameter observed were number of tillers, height of plant, leaf colour, aloe leaf colour, harvest, panicle lenght, number of panicle, grain number of clump, filled grains number of clump, grains number of clump hollow, dry grain weight of clump, 1000 grain weight, and characteristics of grain. The result showed that genotype Badigal were the best at the variable of tillers number, genotype Jalawara Hawara has excellent growth at the variable plant height, genotype Bongkok has excellent growth at the variable amount of grain panicle. The most rapid harvesting of paddy were Bongkok genotype, it’s reached the age of 163 days after planting. Number of filled grain are most numerous in Bongkok genotype, characteristics grain of Bongkok and Jalawara Hawara has a yellow colour brighter than Tambleg, Badigal and Ketan Putri. The grain size of the five genotype local paddy of Banten here a big size based on 1000 grain weight. Jalawara Hawara and Badigal grain has a tail or feather while Tambleg, Ketan Putri and Bongkok hasn’t tail. Keywords : Local Paddy, Morphology, Yield.
