Abstract

The utilization of medicinal plants in the country tends to increase along with increasing public awareness of natural drugs in the treatment of various diseases. Binahong (Anredera cordifolia L.) is a plant that has the potential herbacius field of medicine. The content of secondary metabolites contained therein are able to make this plant as an herbal remedy that has the potential to treat various types of diseases. Generally, the concentration of secondary metabolites in plants found in many parts of the plant callus besides the shape is very diverse and plant growth is influenced by environmental conditions where the growth. to obtain secondary metabolites contained in a particular plant will be more easily obtained from a callus explants. Secondary metabolites produced from callus cultures are usually more kind, because they often arise substances alkaloids or other compounds which are useful for the treatment. This study aims to determine the growth of callus and somatic embryos on the leaves binahong (Anredera cordifolia L.) in vitro. In this research through two stages of the first stage using a completely randomized design (CRD) 1 factor in combination with 2,4-D are different, and phase 2 using 2 factorial completely randomized design using the first factor kinetin and second Fator using IBA. The first phase of the study results showed the concentration of 2,4-D 2 ppm gave the best results at the time appeared callus is 9 HST and the second stage somatic embryo growth, K2I2 gave the best effect at the time of formation of somatic embryogenesis tend to be faster. In the first stage of callus induction concentration of 2 ppm 2,4-D gives the best effect at the time appeared callus, tend to more quickly and in the second stage K2I2 gave the best effect during somatic embryogenesis appear tend to be faster.
