Abstract

ABSTRACT Titi Mutiara Hijayanti. NIM 2321120094. Development Of Gross Motor Skills For Children Aged Up To 4-5 Years Through Traditional Games And Critical Thinking Skills In Early Childhood UPTD SKB (Sanggar Kegiatan Belajar) In Cikeusal District The aim of this study "The traditional games as a medium stimulation aspect of early childhood development" aims to : (1) Finding, reconstruct, and classifythe traditional game that is in Serang Banten accordance with cultural values . (2) Analyze means stimulants traditional games as two aspects of early childhood development is gross motor and developmental aspects of critical thinking skills . This study uses qualitative paradigm that produces descriptive data in the form of words derived from a variety of data collection techniques used in this research is to use the method of observation, questionnaires and interviews. The subject of this research are the kids in kindergarten of UPTD SKB Kabupaten serang in up to 4-5 years old and the teachers. The research was conducted in four phases : Phase I : Stage preliminary / initial field observations carried out with ; Phase II : identifying traditional games conducted in Paud UPTD SKB Serang ; Phase III : Conduct interviews, filling the questionnaire / poll about traditional games ; and Phase IV : analyzing the benefits of traditional games as a stimulant aspects of child development. The findings of this study are the traditional form of the game which is a stimulant for the development of gross motor skills of children, the traditional form of the game that is able to be a stimulant for the development of children's critical thinking skills, gross motor development evaluation for children in traditional games, forms of evaluation development of critical thinking skills in the children's traditional games, themes and forms -cultural themes in traditional games that characterize children. The conclusions were found from this study is that there are five types of traditional games held in Paud built UPTD SKB Serang.. The traditional type of game is a means to develop basic aspects of child development, such as : physical - motor, cognitive ability that is critical thinking such as congklak, gasing, egrang batok, engklek, lompat tali. Moreover, early childhood can recognize local cultural values contained in each type of game. This has implications for all aspects of early childhood development that others such as language development, the development of intrapersonal and interpersonal, naturalistic development, socio-emotional development, spatial development, musical development, and spiritual development. Traditional games is increasing media aspects of child development from ancestral culture. Keywords : gross motor developments, traditional games, critical thinking, early childhood 4-5 years old.
