Pembimbing I: Dr. Agus Sjafari, M.Si dan Pembimbing II: Riny Handayani, M.Si Berdasarkan data Angka Partisipasi Kasar dan Angka Partisipasi Murni SD / MI dan SMP / MTs dari tahun 2013-2017 di Provinsi Banten, Kota Tangerang memiliki hasil capaian yang baik. Namun pada kenyataannya di lapangan masih dihadapkan pada ditemukannya kasus anak putus sekolah dan tidak dapat melanjutkan pendidikan ke tingkat yang lebih tinggi. Pemerintah Kota Tangerang berupaya mengatasi permasalahan anak putus sekolah melalui Dinas Pendidikan yang merupakan pelaksana tugas pelayanan di bidang pendidikan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui Kinerja Dinas Pendidikan Kota Tangerang dalam Mengatasi Permasalahan Anak Putus Sekolah. Penelitian ini mengacu pada indikator kinerja birokrasi publik menurut Dwiyanto (2012:49-51). Metodelogi penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dan teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan adalah melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Kinerja Dinas Pendidikan Kota Tangerang dalam Mengatasi Permasalahan Anak Putus Sekolah dalam pelaksanaannya telah memiliki tindakan pencegahan dalam mengatasi anak putus sekolah berupa intervensi subsidi biaya pendidikan dan anak putus sekolah yang terdata dan terverifikasi oleh Satuan Tugas Wajib Belajar sudah dimasukkan kembali ke Pusat Kegiatan Belajar Masyarakat melalui Program Kejar Paket. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan anak putus sekolah ini, maka diharapkan perlu meningkatkan kualitas program-program bantuan biaya pendidikan yang ada dan kontinuitas dari tugas pokok dan fungsi Satuan Tugas Wajib Belajar dalam mengatasi anak putus sekolah di Kota Tangerang. However, in reality on the field is still faced with the discovery of cases of children dropping out and unable to continue their education to a higher level. Tangerang City Government tries to overcome the problem of drop out children through Education Department which is the executor of duty service in the field of education. The purpose of this research is to know “The Performance of Education Department of Tangerang City in Overcoming the Problem of School Dropout Children”. This study was based on Dwiyanto’s (2012:49-51) performance indicator reference. The research methodology used is descriptive qualitative approach method and data collection technique is done through observation, interview, and documentation study. The results showed that the performance of the Education Department of Tangerang City in Overcoming the Problem of School Dropouts in its implementation has preventive measures in overcoming the drop out of school in the form of subsidized tuition subsidy intervention and school drop out children who are recorded and verified by the Compulsory Education Task Force have been reentered to the Activity Center Learning Society through Package Program. To overcome this problem, it is expected to improve the quality of existing tuition assistance programs and the continuity of the main tasks and functions of the Compulsory Education Task Force in overcoming the drop out of school in Tangerang City.
