Abstract

This study was based belakangibanyak educators who are still using teaching materials that are commonly used without any creativity to develop innovative instructional materials. Thus, the risk is possible if the teaching materials they use are not contextual, uninteresting, monotonous, and not in accordance with the needs of learners. Hence the need for a math teaching materials oriented character education in mathematics to students' mathematical reasoning abilities. The purpose of this study was to produce a material-oriented teaching character education in mathematics to students' reasoning abilities. The teaching material contains the values of character and made according to the indicators of reasoning. The material in this study is a wake-up flat rectangle for students SMP / MTs VII class in the second semester. This research is a development (Research and Development). The model used is a model development Sugiyono development that includes 10 stages. But developers only use 7 stages only. These stages include, potential problems, information gathering, product design, design validation, improved design, product trials and product revision. This study, entitled mengahsilkan teaching materials oriented Instructional Materials On Character Education in Mathematics Learning the reasoning ability of students. The results showed that: 1) based on the assessment of teaching materials using a questionnaire to test results obtained mathematician final percentage of 68.23% (2) based on an assessment of teaching materials that performed by education experts the final result a percentage of 74.28% and incoming in the strong category (3) based on a limited scale test conducted for 10 junior high students dperoleh result that the teaching materials developed into the strong category with a final presentation by 78.85%.
