Abstract
This study aims to determine whether the critical thinking skills of students using learning model Think Pair Share better than students who use direct instructional model. This research is Quasi Eksperimen research (quasi experiment). The sampel of research is class V SDN Ciputri. The study was conducted in 2 groups (2 classes), namely the control class VA class and VB experimental class. The results showed that students 'critical thinking skills SDN Ciputri VB class that uses a cooperative model of think pair share better than the students' critical thinking skills class that uses the VA SDN Ciputri direct instructional model with the subject matter of important events before the proclamation. Evident from the results of calculations using the t test normal data and homogeneous, ie t = 1.58 to 2.00 t table so as to test the right side of 1.58 <2.00. Based on the results of this study concluded that students' critical thinking skills in social studies, who received a model of cooperative think pair share is better than receiving direct instructional model.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Think Pair Share lebih baik daripada siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Quasi Eksperimen (eksperimen semu). Sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas V SDN Ciputri. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam 2 kelompok (2 kelas) yaitu kelas VA kelas kontrol dan VB kelas eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VB SDN Ciputri yang menggunakan model kooperatif tipe think pair share lebih baik daripada kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VA SDN Ciputri yang menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung dengan materi pokok Peristiwa penting menjelang proklamasi. Terbukti dari hasil perhitungan dengan menggunakan uji t data normal dan homogen, yaitu thitung =1,58 dengan ttabel 2,00 sehingga untuk uji satu pihak kanan 1,58<2,00. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam mata pelajaran IPS yang mendapat model kooperatif tipe think pair share lebih baik dari pada yang mendapat model pembelajaran langsung. | |||||||||
