Abstract

The wall is one of the structures that serve to protect the occupants from the attack of wild animals, wind, sun, or rain.The walls generally arranged using red bricks. However, in recent decades there have been developments in wall materials, the emergence of light weight bricks which is a new material as an alternative to red bricks in wall construction. The development of technology in the field of contruction is increasingly rapid, so the creation of precast wall. The study was conducted to determine the strengths and weaknesses of the method of implementing precast walls with conventional walls (light weight brick) on the Kebon Kacang 21 Hotel, Amazana Apartement, and Thamrine Distric Apartement Construction Project by comparing the quality, cost and time between precast walls which are new technologies in the world of conventional wall construction (light weight brick). The results of this research are in terms of better quality precast walls because in terms of compressive strength results show a stronger precast wall and has met the standard. The cost aspect of implementing a conventional wall (light weight brick) is more efficient, while in terms of time it is more efficient to use precast walls because in the installation time does not spend a lot of time.
