Abstract
This research is showed to find out the the influence of Mind Mapping Model through the student’s writing ability in short story at 11th grade students of SMA 1 Jawilan. This research was held by using tests, those were pretest and post test. The research formulation in this research as follow; “is there the influence of Mind Mapping Model through the student’s writing ability in short story at 10th grade students of SMA 1 Jawilan?”, “is there the influence of speech conventional model through the student’s writing ability in short story at 11th grade students of SMA 1 Jawilan?”. The objective of this research is describing the influence of learning short story by using Mind Mapping Model and speech conventional model through the student’s writing ability in short story at 10th grade students of SMA 1 Jawilan. This research used experimental model with using quantitative approach. The population of this research was all of the 11th grade students of SMA 1 Jawilan. The sample was used in this research were two classes, there were class XI science 3 as an experimental class and XI social 4 as a control class. Based on the research data analysis, it could be conclude that the result of learning writing short story in experimental class by using mind mapping model got the average 79,5 with the pre-test score was 62,96. The useful of speech conventional model got the average score 71,7 with the pre-test score was 59,26. Based on the result of learning data, the class that had the increasing of post-test score was in experimental class which had difference 7,8 point and the average score of experimental class and control class were 79,5 and 71,7. From that result, it looked the significant difference that was the student’s score who were taught by using mind mapping model higher than students were not. The result of this research showed that learning by using mind mapping model was better than using speech conventional model through the student’s writing ability in short story at 11th grade students of SMA 1 Jawilan.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini ditunjukkan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model mind mapping terhadap keterampilan menulis cerpen pada siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Jawilan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes, yaitu pretes dan posttest. Rumusan masalah pada penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut, “Terdapat pengaruh model mind mapping terhadap keterampilan menulis cerpen siswa kelas XI SMAN 1 Jawilan?”, Apakah terdapat pengaruh model konvensional ceramah terhadap keerampilan menulis cerpen siswa kelas XI SMAN 1 Jawilan?”, Apakah terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada hasil menulis cerpen antara yang menggunakan model mind mapping dan yang menggunakan model konvensional ceramah pada siswa kelas XI SMAN 1 Jawilan?”. Dengan tujuan mendeskripsikan pengaruh pembelajaran menulis cerpen dengan menggunakan model mind mapping dan model konvensional ceramah terhadap keterampilan menulis cerpen pada siswa kelas XI SMAN 1 Jawilan. Penelitian ini menggunakan model eksperimen yang bersifat kuantitatif . Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI SMAN 1 Jawilan. Sampel yang digunakan sebanyak dua kelas yaitu kelas XI IPA 3 sebagai kelas ekperimen dan kelas XI IPS 4 sebagai kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan analisis data penelitian, maka diperoleh kesimpulan yaitu hasil pembelajaran menulis cerpen dikelas eksperimen dengan menggunakan model mind mapping mendapat nilai rata-rata sebesar 79,5 dengan nilai pretest yaitu 62,96. Penggunaan model konvensional ceramah mendapat nilai rata-rata sebesar71,7 dengan nilai pretest 59,26. Berdasarkan data hasil pembelajaran yang memiliki peningkatan pada nilai postest dikelas eksperimen yang memiliki selisih 7,8 point dengan nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen dan kontrol 79,5 dan 71,7, dari hasil tersebut terlihat adanya perbedaan yang signifikan yakni nilai yang menggunakan model mind mapping lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan model pembelajaran konvensional ceramah dalam pembelajaran menulis cerpen. Hasil penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa model pembelajaran mind mapping lebih baik dibandingkan dengan model pembelajaran konvensional ceramah terhadap keterampilan menulis cerpen siswa kelas XI SMA. | |||||||||
