Abstract

This study aimed to determine the competitiveness of both comparative superiority and competitive superiority of corn farming, and to determine the impact of government policies on input or output prices on corn farmers. Descriptive quantitative method was used in this research. The study was conducted at Jawilan Sub-district, Anyar Sub-district, and Gunungsari Sub-district, Serang Regency. Primary data sources were obtained by using an interview and questionnaire lists with 93 farmers as sample data in this study. Secondary data were obtained from notes and documentation. There were three methods of analysis carried out in this study. Policy Analysis Matrix (PAM) was used as research analysis to find out about financial and economic advantages, the value of both comparative and competitive superiority, and the impact of government policies on outputs-inputs toward economic activity. The results of this study revealed that corn farming in those three sub-districts had competitiveness competitively but did not comparatively. It can be seen in the production’s efficiency with a PCR value of 0.63 and a DRCR value of -5.06. Government policies related to output (NPCO) and inputs (NPCI) have been able to protect farmers but input-output (EPC) has been able to protect farmers because it was not running effective.
