Abstract

Designing an information system can make things easier in a system. Information system can be impelemented in a form of application or website. Industrial Engineering Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University has aponting thesis supervisor procedure without using information system, because of that there are some problem that cause some difficulty in acquiring data related to student’s thesis. Thus, this thesis is created with a goal to design an information system to help the process included in thesis administration. The methode used to create the system information is Extreme Programming, where it contain 4 phase including planning, design, coding, and testing. Information system created is impelemented in a form of web, where it will do a functionality testing with black box testing and usability testing with system usability scale. The results shows that the website must be able to be used as a medium for students to submit their thesis supervisors and also be used by Industrial Engineering Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University to appoint thesis supervisors. The website contain data such as student’s thesis proposal, student data, and thesis supervisors’s data. The Black Box Test shows that all of the scenario tested are valid and the System Usability Scale has a result of 77,25 which mean the website is accepted.

Additional Information: Perancangan suatu sistem informasi dapat mempermudah berbagai hal dalam suatu sistem. Sistem informasi sendiri dapat diimplementasikan dalam bentuk aplikasi ataupun web. Teknik Industri Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa memiliki prosedur penentuan dosen pembimbing tugas akhir yang belum memanfaatkan sistem informasi, akibatnya terdapat kesulitan pada penarikan dan pembaharuan data yang masih dilakukan secara manual, serta terdapat kemungkinan salah mengisi form yang disediakan bagi mahasiswa. Maka dari itu penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk membuat perancangan sistem informasi tugas akhir berbasis web. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode Extreme Programming dimana terdapat 4 tahap yaitu planning, design, coding, dan testing. Sistem informasi dibuat kedalam bentuk web, dimana setelah web dibuat dilakukan uji fungsionalitas dengan Black Box Testing serta uji usability dengan System Usability Scale. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukan bahwa Sistem informasi yang dirancang memiliki kebutuhan terdapat otentifikasi pengguna, dapat digunakan untuk pendaftaran proposal, penetapan dosen pembimbing, pendaftaran dan pengumuman jadwal seminar, serta pendaftaran dan pengumuman jadwal sidang. Pengguna dari sistem informasi terbagi menjadi 2 yaitu mahasiswa dan koordinator TA sebagai admin. Hasil dari Black Box Test adalah valid dalam semua percobaan dan hasil dari System Usability Test memiliki rata-rata 77,25 yang artinya website sudah dapat diterima.
