Abstract

ABSTRACT Seaweed is one marine resources which can be used as capital for national economic development. A supplier of seaweed located in Banten provincial government distributed at various regions, one of them is Serang. Serang is one of district that has the good potential in the field of the cultivation of seaweed. In the district of Serang, the cultivation of Eucheuma Cottonii seaweed’stype spread at two districts namely Tirtayasa and Pulo Ampel Sub-Districts. But Results Seaweed farming production in the village Tirtayasa Lontar much more when compared with the District of Pulo Ampel. This research aimed to analyze Contributions and Income Distribution Seaweed Cultivation. Data were collected using a direct interview technique by the use of questionnaire. The respondents was took with survey’s method by the location of set in a deliberately in the Lontar’s village of Tirtayasa Sub-district, Serang. The technique of sampling in this research was used simple random sampling and method of sampling was used random number tables. The number of respondents cultivator of the seaweed was 89 people cultivator of the seaweed. The data in this research were the primary and secondary data. This research using Gini Ratio and Kurva Lorenz. The results of the analysis shows that the average income of seaweed farming in the village Lontar is Rp. 1.996.419 from seaweed farming activities , while the average income of farmers outside seaweed farming activities is Rp. 2.666.502 per month . contribution of non-cultivation of seaweed for 57,19% of total income , the total contribution of the average total income of farmers amounted to 42,81% of the total earned income. income distribution of 0,26 seaweed cultivation and distribution of 0,28 from outside cultivation.
