Abstract

Pada proses pembelajaran matematika, masih terdapat siswa yang merasa cemas untuk menghadapi pelajaran tersebut baik didalam maupun diluar kelas. Siswa memiliki ciri-ciri kecemasannya masing-masing. Namun kecemasan yang dihadapi siswa dapat mendorong siswa untuk terus belajar secara mandiri agar mendapatkan prestasi belajar yang lebih baik. Dengan adanya rumusan tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara kecemasan matematis dan kemandirian belajar siswa SMP. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian korelasional dengan metode kuantitatif. Penelitian dilakukan di SMP Negeri 2 Kelapa Dua, Kabupaten Tangerang. Populasi pada penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Kelapa Dua. Dengan teknik cluster random sampling diperoleh dua kelas VIII sebanyak 51 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa instrumen non tes yang berbentuk kuisioner kecemasan matematis dan kemandirian belajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis korelasi Pearson Product Moment dan memberikan kesimpulan bahwa hubungan antara kecemasan matematis dan kemandirian belajar pada siswa SMP memiliki hubungan yang positif dan signifikan dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,76. Koefisien yang bernilai positif menandakan bahwa hubungan kedua variabel searah berarti ketika siswa memiliki kecemasan matematis tinggi, maka siswa juga memiliki kemandirian belajar yang tinggi dan sebaliknya.

Additional Information: In the mathematics learning process, there are still students who feel anxious about facing these lessons both inside and outside the classroom. Students have the characteristics of their respective anxiety. However, the anxiety faced by students can encourage students to continue studying independently to get better learning achievement. With this formulation, this research aims to see the relationship between mathematics anxiety and the learning independence of junior high school students. This type of research is correlational research with quantitative methods. The research was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Kelapa Dua, Kabupaten Tangerang. The population in this study were all students of class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Kelapa Dua. With the cluster random sampling technique, there were two class VIII students as many as 51 students. The instrument used in this research was a non�test instrument in the form of a questionnaire on mathematics anxiety and independent learning. This research uses Pearson Product Moment correlation analysis and concludes that the relationship between mathematics anxiety and learning independence in junior high school students has a positive and significant relationship with a correlation coefficient of 0.76. The positive coefficient indicates that the relationship between the two variables is unidirectional, meaning that when students have high mathematics anxiety, students also have high learning independence and vice versa.
