Steptian Akbar. NIM 102584. Skripsi. Konsep Diri Mahasiswa UNTIRTA Pendengar Electronic Dance Music (EDM) Pada Event Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP) 2015. Pembimbing I: Dr. Rd. Nia Kania Kurniawati, S.IP., M.Si. dan Pembimbing II: Dr. Ing Rangga Galura G, M.Si. UNTIRTA merupakan satu-satunya Universitas Negeri dibawah Kemenristekdikti yang berada di Provinsi Banten, tepatnya di Kota Serang dan Cilegon. Adanya perkembangan zaman, mempengaruhi Konsep Diri mahasiswa UNTIRTA dimana jika dilihat dari letak geografisnya UNTIRTA dekat dengan Ibu Kota Negara yaitu Jakarta yang menjadi pusat perkembangan musik Electronic Dance Music (EDM) di Indonesia dan lokasi diselenggarakannya event Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP), sehingga disinyalir memunculkan animo sebagian kecil mahasiswa UNTIRTA pendengar musik Electronic Dance Music (EDM) untuk menghadiri event Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP) dengan berbagai macam alasan juga motif dan simbol yang beragam. Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui konsep diri mahasiswa UNTIRTA pendengar Electronic Dance Music (EDM) pada event Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP) 2015. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori Interaksi Simbolik. Menurut teori ini, suatu aktivitas yang merupakan ciri khas manusia, yakni komunikasi atau pertukaran simbol yang diberi makna. Perspektif Interaksi Simbolik berusaha memahami perilaku manusia dari sudut pandang subjek. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, dengan mengumpulkan data melalui wawancara dan observasi. Informan kunci dalam penelitian ini adalah dua orang mahasiswa. Berdasarkan pada hasil penelitian dengan key Informan mulai mencari tahu tentang Electronic Dance Music (EDM) sejak sekitar tahun 2010-2015 karena kebutuhan pribadi dari keduanya dalam rutinitas sehari-hari. tercipta (mind) dari key informan yang dirasa perlu untuk sejenak mendapatkan hiburan. Dalam sehari key informan bisa berjam-jam dalam mendengarkan Electronic Dance Music (EDM). Key informan memiliki keinginan (self) untuk datang ke event Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP) yang up to date, keren, high class, glamour, mewah, dan berstatus sosial tinggi. Kedua key informan sejatinya adalah mahasiswa dan merupakan seseorang yang lahir dan tumbuh di lingkungan masyarakat (society) yang terlalu fanatik terhadap satu jenis musik tertentu misalnya Electronic Dance Music (EDM). Masyarakat (society) memang ada yang menerima ada yang mungkin tidak menerima keberadaan mereka sebagai pendengar Electronic Dance Music (EDM), namun kembali kepada orangnya selama masih dalam batas kewajaran. Kata Kunci : Komunikasi, Konsep Diri, Teori Interaksi Simbolik.

The theory used in this research is the theory of Symbolic Interaction. According to this theory, an activity that is characteristic of the person, that the communication or exchange of symbols given meaning. Symbolic Interaction Perspective trying to understand human behavior from the perspective of the subject. This study uses qualitative descriptive method by collecting data through interviews and observations. The key informants in this study were two students. Based on research with key informants began to find out about Electronic Dance Music (EDM) since about 2010-2015 for the personal needs of both the daily routine. created (mind) of key informants were deemed necessary for the moment to get entertainment. In a day of key informants can take hours to listen Electronic Dance Music (EDM). Key informants have the desire (self) to come to the event Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP) are up to date, cool, high class, glamor, luxury, and high social status. Both key informant actually is a student and a person who was born and grew up in the community (society) who are fanatical about a particular type of music, for example Electronic Dance Music (EDM). Society (society) do exist are received there who might not accept their presence as a listener Electronic Dance Music (EDM), but returned to the person as long as the limits of reasonableness.
