Abstract

VANNY SEPTIANI. NIM. 061570. SKRIPSI. TEKNIK KOMUNIKASI PERSUASIF DOSEN DALAM MENINGKATKAN PRESTASI BELAJAR MAHASISWA. Prestasi belajar merupakan salah satu indikator keberhasilan seorang mahasiswa. Namun dalam proses pencapaian prestasi tersebut seringkali mahasiswa dihadapkan dengan berbagai kendala-kendala yang bisa menurunkan prestasinya. Dikala menurunnya prestasi belajar mahasiswa non reguler angkatan 2008 tersebut, maka dosen yang dianggap mahasiswa sebagai seorang pakar yang dapat dipercaya dituntut untuk dapat meningkatkan kembali prestasi belajar mahasiswanya. Salah satunya adalah dengan melakukan teknik komunikasi persuasif. Skripsi ini mengenai bagaimana teknik komunikasi persuasif dosen dalam meningkatkan prestasi belajar mahasiswa. Sedangkan metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Metode Kualitatif. Dengan menggunakan Key Informan sebagai nara sumber peneliti, yaitu: 1 (satu) dosen Jurusan Akuntansi Fakultas Ekonomi (FE), 1 (satu) dosen Jurusan Manajemen FE, 1 (satu) dosen Jurusan Ilmu Komunikasi Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik (FISIP), 1 (satu) dosen Jurusan Administrasi Negara FISIP, 1 (satu) dosen Jurusan Ilmu Hukum Fakultas Hukum (FH), 1 (satu) dosen Jurusan Teknik Industri Fakultas Teknik (FT), 1 (satu) dosen Jurusan Teknik Mesin FT, 1 (satu) dosen Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan (FKIP), 1 (satu) dosen jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia FKIP, dan 1 (satu) dosen Jurusan Pendidikan Biologi FKIP. Setelah dilakukan proses penelitian, maka diperoleh hasil penelitian bahwa para dosen dalam meningkatkan prestasi belajarnya menggunakan lima teknik komunikasi persuasif, diantaranya adalah: Teknik asosiasi, teknik integrasi, teknik ganjaran, teknik tataan, dan teknik red-herring. Demi berhasilnya komunikasi persuasif perlu dilaksanakan secara sistematis. Formula AIDDA (Attention, Interest, Desire, Decision, Action) dijadikan landasan pelaksanaan. Setelah para dosen melakukan teknik tersebut secara sistematis, maka prestasi belajar mahasiswa non reguler akan meningkat.

Study achievement is one of the student’s success indicators. But in processing to reach it, students are often faced by some problems which can reduce their achievement. When the study achievement of non regular students of 2008 reduces, so the lecturers – who have an expert and believed by the students – have to raise back the students’ study achievement. One of them is by doing a persuasive communication technique. This thesis is about how the lecturers’ persuasive communication technique in raising students’ study achievement. Besides, the method which is used in this research is Qualitative Method. With uses some Key Informant as a researcher’s informant, such as: 1 (one) lecturer from the Accounting Department of Economy Faculty, 1 (one) lecturer from the Management Department of Economy Faculty, 1 (one) lecturer from the Communication Science Department of Social Science and Politic Science Faculty, 1 (one) lecturer from the State Administration Department of Social Science and Politic Science Faculty, 1 (one) lecturer from Law Science Department of Law Faculty, 1 (one) lecturer from Industrial Technique Department of Technique Faculty, 1 (one) lecturer from Machinical Technique Department of Technique Faculty, 1 (one) lecturer from English Education Department of Education and Science Faculty, 1 (one) lecturer from Indonesian Education Department of Education and Science Faculty, and 1 (one) lecturer from Biology Education of Education and Science Faculty. After the research has been done, so the researcher got a research product that some lecturers in raising students’ study achievement use 5 (five) persuasive communication techniques, such as: Asociation technique, integration technique, reward technique, arrangement technique, and red-herring technique. In order persuasive communication be successful, it has to do systematically. AIDDA (Attention, Interest, Desire, Decision, Action) Formula can be used as a base in doing it. After the lecturers do that techniques systematically, so the non regular students’ study achievement can be raised.
